Tanzanite Ear Climber Studs (December Birthstone)

Make a statement with these tanzanite ear climber studs!

Dimensions are: 22mm long, and a 5mm gap for the earlobe.  Simply thread the stud part through the ear, position in place, and give a gentle squeeze to secure.

Either buy as a pair or as singles for your right or left ear.

Made with solid copper and rose gold plated to preserve the finish, making them hypoallergenic. The plating will wear off in time, revealing the natural copper colour underneath. Copper is a natural antibacterial agent, and the wearing of copper jewellery is considered to have a therapeutic effect on the human body.

All jewellery comes beautifully packaged in a jewellery box with gemstone info card and care guide.

The gemstones we use are raw and unpolished, so they might have some” imperfections”. (In our opinion it adds to the beauty and individuality of each piece!)

Jewellery pieces are created by a process called copper electroforming, which allows for the deposition of copper electrolytes over several hours in a copper/acid solution. This results in unique and unpredictable textures, as the entire process is organic.

Please be aware that the colour of copper darkens over time, and the item can be cleaned using a sachet of Copperbrite and a soft cloth, available here:Copperbrite and/or polishing cloth – Down to Earth Jewellery ) Copper can potentially turn the skin green as it reacts with the chemicals in some skins. A coat of clear nail polish will prevent this.

About Tanzanite:

As Tanzania is the place of origin and the only source of this beautiful blue rock, it was aptly named thereafter. Unlike nearly all of the world’s most popular gemstones, tanzanite was not discovered in commercial quantities until the 1960’s. In the short time since then, the popularity of this gemstone has overtaken many other gemstones within the past century. This was accomplished mainly by Tiffany’s in New York’s promotion thereof, coupled with tanzanite’s beautiful blue colour. It is also recognised for its remarkably strong trichroism, meaning that it appears alternately as blue, violet or burgundy, depending on which way the crystal is viewed.

Birthstone: Because of its growing popularity, Tanzanite was designated as a modern birthstone for the month of December in 2002.

Anniversary stone: 24th

Symbolism:

Tanzanite is said to represent the heart and intellect, combined with intuition and purity. These stones are used as symbols of dignity, truth, judgement and longevity. They are also used to assist in many healing processes.
