Spirit Quartz is found only in South Africa, making it a truly special gemstone. It is primarily mined in the Magaliesberg region of Gauteng, near Pretoria. The mines around Boekenhouthoek and KwaNdebele are well-known sources of this unique crystal.

Spirit Quartz forms in clusters, with a main crystal covered in tiny druzy-like points, giving it its signature sparkling appearance. It’s sometimes called Cactus Quartz or Fairy Quartz due to this formation. Most Spirit Quartz on the market comes from small-scale, artisanal mining operations, which means each piece is carefully collected by hand.
