Ruby Hexagon Shape Gemstone Necklace
This hexagon gemstone necklace really makes a statement! It is in stock and ready to ship the next working day.
The hexagons are 20mm wide and have a gemstone (6mm -8mm) set in copper in the centre. The chain (Included) is a delicate anchor link chain that extends from 40cm to 50cm. It has a ball clasp. The chain is solid copper with a rose gold plating to preserve the finish.
The gemstones we use are raw and unpolished, so they might have some” imperfections”. (In our opinion it adds to the beauty and individuality of each piece!)
Jewellery pieces are created by a process called copper electroforming, which allows for the deposition of copper electrolytes over several hours in a copper/acid solution. This results in unique and unpredictable textures, as the entire process is organic.
The hexagon and earring hooks are solid copper and is rose gold plated to preserve the finish. They are therefore hypoallergenic.
Please be aware that the colour of copper darkens over time, and the item can be cleaned using a sachet of Copperbrite and a soft cloth. (Available here) Copper can potentially turn the skin green as it reacts with the chemicals in some skins. A coat of clear nail polish will prevent this.
About Ruby:
Ruby is one of the four precious gemstones and is part of the corundum family. The name ruby derives from the Latin word rubrum, which means red. Rubies range in shades; from pinkish to blood-red. Ruby and sapphire (the blue form of corundum), are siblings and they are the hardest stones after diamonds, scoring a 9 on the Mohs hardness scale. The first written references to ruby deposits come from the 6th century AD.
Birthstone: July
Anniversary stone: 15th and 40th

Rubies are associated with intense passion, good luck, contentment, success, energy, enthusiasm and personal inspiration. Some even believe they have the power to attract and maintain love!
