Green Garnet Drop Necklace
This drop-shape gemstone necklace really makes a statement!
The drops shape is 20mm x 15mm and have a 6mm -8mm gemstone set in copper in the centre. The chain (Included) is a delicate anchor link chain that extends from 40cm to 50cm. It has an S hook clasp. The chain is solid copper with a rose gold plating to preserve the finish.
The gemstones we use are raw and unpolished, so they might have some” imperfections”. (In our opinion it adds to the beauty and individuality of each piece!)
All jewellery comes beautifully packaged in a jewellery box and relevant gemstone card, ready for gifting.
Jewellery pieces are created by a process called copper electroforming, which allows for the deposition of copper electrolytes over several hours in a copper/acid solution. This results in unique and unpredictable textures, as the entire process is organic.
Please be aware that the colour of copper darkens over time, and the item can be cleaned using a sachet of Copperbrite and a soft cloth. (Available here) Copper can potentially turn the skin green as it reacts with the chemicals in some skins. A coat of clear nail polish will prevent this.
About Green Garnet:
Garnets come in a wide variety of colours and although the most famous colour is deep red, some popular species include the green garnet. These belong to the andradite and grossular garnets.
There are two species that fall under the grossular garnets, the Tsavorite that features a chrome green colour and the Grossularite that is yellow green in colour. The term grossular derives from the botanical name for gooseberries, which is grossularia, in reference to its colour.
Birthstone: January
Anniversary stone: 2nd
Symbolism:
Due to its colour, green garnets are believed to symbolise growth, nurturing, renewal, regeneration and a powerful connection with the earth. They also represent self-empowerment, hope, gratitude, prosperity, purity, love, richness, and compassion.
