Small Amazonite Heart on Toggle Clasp Chain

This chunky chain is 45 cm long and has a toggle clasp. The links are ovals, 6mmx 4mm in size. It looks great on its own, or layered with longer chains. Attached is a small, 10mm Amazonite heart gemstone.

The gemstones we use are raw and unpolished, so they might have some” imperfections”. (In our opinion it adds to the beauty and individuality of each piece!)

Jewellery pieces are created by a process called copper electroforming, which allows for the deposition of copper electrolytes over several hours in a copper/acid solution. This results in unique and unpredictable textures, as the entire process is organic.

Chains are made from solid copper, although they are rose gold plated to preserve the finish. The plating will wear off in time, revealing the natural copper colour underneath. Copper is a natural antibacterial agent, and the wearing of copper jewellery is considered to have a therapeutic effect on the human body.

Amazonite

Believed to refer to the greens of the tropical rainforest as well as its watery hues of the river, Amazonite was named after the Amazon in South America. This variety of feldspar varies from green jade to turquoise, can range from translucent to opaque and often have white veins or alternating streaks.

Amazonite has been valued for centuries by ancient Egyptians, South American Indians and many more, not only for its healing and protective properties, but also its myriad of perceived spiritual benefits.

Symbolism:

Known as the “stone of hope”, Amazonite is thought to provide optimism, joy, love and empowerment. It is also believed to be helpful in overall calming, but particularly that of the brain and nervous system. It sooths emotional trauma and alleviates fear by dissipating negative energy, just as it is believed to filter and protect against electromagnetic pollution.
